Lovekyn Chapel, Surrey

It’s great when venue’s get in touch and they are just a perfect fit for You & Me.  As you flick through the various venues on You & Me you will see I definitely have a soft spot for venues that are a little bit different or at least capture the sentiment behind You & Me.  When I first started the blog I was inspired by the conversion of Ripley Chapel into Miss Bush Bridalwear and wrote a post about Chapel conversion so I was delighted when Lovekyn Chapel got in touch.

The Lovekyn Chapel is the oldest free-standing chantry chapel in England located in the heart of Kingston Upon Thames, Surrey.  Originally built in 1309 for the Lovekyn family for spiritual devotion, the Chapel is now owned by Kingston Grammer School and used for civil ceremonies, champagne receptions, small music events and readings.  Not only is it cute, perfect for couples looking to get married in a chapel environment but without the religious elements, but it is so conveniently located.  Once you have got married at the Chapel and enjoyed some bubbles you could move on to Ditton Fields to carry on your celebrations.

A stunning light-filled room provides space for the ceremony. An elegant and bright area, making it perfect for weddings and any musical performances or readings.

Large stained glass windows, a magnificent vaulted, beamed ceiling and arched doorway all give this venue a very special character.
