I’m passionate about finding venues that don’t require couples to compromise. This is why I started You & Me. I felt let down that so many venues during my search required me change my plans. This was mainly down to a minimum number restriction of course.
Weddings have moved on from parents choosing who attends. The complexity of the modern family means couples are often choosing an alternative route to getting married and celebrating it. As discussed many times in the media getting married can be rather expensive. I’m sure there’s been many a bride who has excitedly purchased her first wedding magazine, flicked to the “average budget” page, promptly thrown the magazine across the room and gone to find a safe hiding place. Thankfully with wedding blogs such as Love My Dress, Rock My Wedding, Rock n Roll Bride and Boho Weddings, the alternative is embraced; a village hall can look exquisite and a pub the perfect place to party. Though I would love to see brides discuss budgets, I expect that’ll be a future blog post for me, it proves that couples don’t have to compromise, don’t have to spend their house deposit on having the perfect day.
I believe that couples should be able to feel like they have the cream of wedding venues available to them (yes a pipe dream perhaps “our running costs” etc etc) whether that’s a pub or a manor. Couples should be made to feel special on their wedding day, celebrate with who they want, on the day they want at the place they want.
Tomorrow I’ll be bringing you a venue that does just that. Perhaps the perfect example of You & Me is all about.
