Houghton Lodge & Gardens, Hampshire

Houghton Lodge & Gardens, Hampshire is an 18th Century Grade II listed Gothic Cottage Orne` on the banks of the River Test.  It looks pretty idyllic to me.

Houghton Lodge has two rooms available for wedding ceremonies; The 18th Century domed and circular Music Room or the Dining Room.  They hold up to 30 and 50 guests seated respectively.  Once the ceremony is over you can entertain your guests on the bank of the river in a marquee or tent whatever takes your fancy.  With the views across the river I definitely think a tent is the way to go; check out Stunning Tents.  One of the main draws of Houghton Lodge are the walled gardens and what perfect surroundings to mingle with your guests before making your way down to the river for your wedding breakfast.

At Houghton Lodge & Gardens you will find most romantic position for your celebration overlooking the River Test. Flowers adorning the entrance and festooning the pier, Swans gently gliding by, the water vole busily going about its daily business, the trout rising for a quick gulp of a plump and delicious mayfly. A riverside marquee with floodlit paths and the river bathed in evening mists and moonlight have provided the venue for such glorious memories.
